Reading is fun and enjoyable. Getting to know about different kinds of texts can help to identify which theme we might enjoy as readers. The four main literary genres are poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and drama, with each varying in style, structure, subject matter, and the use of figurative language. Texts are commonly classified as fiction or nonfiction. Differentiating among fiction and nonfiction as well as fact and opinion is a necessary skill to help you form ideas about what you read.The lesson provides different exercises to help you.

Throughout this lesson the student will:

  • read , enjoy and understand different types of texts.
