Figurative language uses words or expressions with a meaning that is different from the literal interpretation.Poetry structure uses figurative language. Throughout this lesson the different types of figurative language examples will be discussed to help the reader enjoy and create poetry.
During the lesson, the student will be able to:
- determine the figurative meaning of words and phrases in a poem;
- analyze how a poem’s structure contributes to its meaning;
- recognize the distinguishing features of poetry.
