7.R.7L Compare and contrast the experience of reading a story, drama, or poem to listening to or viewing an audio, video, or play of a literary text, including contrasting what they “see” and “hear” when reading the text to what they perceive when they listen or watch using English subtitles.

In this lesson, emphasis is given on reading comprehension and analytical skills. Sensory images enhance comprehension when reading a story. Subtitles will assist in the comprehension when watching a movie. In a comparative analysis between a book and movie, the literary elements are the main focus.

Throughout the lesson, the student will be able to:

  • compare and contrast the experiences of reading the story to listening or viewing.
  • "see" or "hear" when reading.
  • listen or watch movies with subtitles.
