The following lesson pretends to develop students’ English language skills. They will work with different concepts such as dialects, register, formal English, informal English, among others to help them compare and contrast various forms of language used in texts and other different types of communication.
During the lesson, the student will be able to:
- identify dialects and register in different texts;
- identify formal and informal English in various texts;
- compare and contrast the difference between casual conversation and formal;
- communicate dialect, register, formal English and informal English in visual, auditory, and written form.
This lesson’s content is of high educational quality. It is designed with a model of a conceptualization, definitions, examples, practice exercises and test with different levels of complexity. In addition, it includes rubrics for an objective evaluation.
