Students will understand the elements of text structure, and how the different styles influence poems, dramas, and prose.

During the lesson, the student will be able to:

  1. identify text structure;  
  2. explain how the component of poems, drama and prose play a role in the overall structure of a text;
  3. describe the effect created by an author using a particular structure;
  4. use text structure to create original writing.
