Students will be able to identify different elements of figurative language such as idioms and hyperbole among others. Furthermore, they will be capable of analyzing and interpreting figurative language examples. Moreover, students will learn to create poems using similes, metaphors and personifications. The knowledge of figurative language and its components will allow students to identify and interpret comparisons found in a wide variety of texts. Also, it will help them to develop their own pieces of writing. The lesson will offer students the opportunity to identify and create similes, metaphors and other elements of figurative language by allowing them to write various idioms and poems.
During the lesson, the student will be able to:
