Throughout this lesson the student will use in-depth critical reading of a variety of relevant texts to describe ideas, phenomena, cultural identity, and literary elements in the texts; asking and answering such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text. The student will also learn to differentiate fact from opinion and fiction from nonfiction. Students will identify the main idea and supporting details from the texts as well.
During this lesson, the student will be able to:
- ask and respond to wh questions;
- recognize fact and opinion;
- identify details in a text;
- demonstrate reading comprehension.
