1.R.FS.11d Isolate and pronounce initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in spoken single-syllable words.

Students will identify the initial, middle and final sound of one syllable words. They will be able to recognize, read and write one syllable words; understanding the pattern of CVC words, increasing their English vocabulary, and developing reading and writing skills.

During the lesson, the student will be able to:
  • identify initial sound;
  • name the initial and final sound;
  • construct a word wall with the same medial vowel sound;
  • recognize, isolate, and read initial, medial vowel and final sounds; 
  • write one syllable words.
