11.R.6L – Analyze a particular point of view or cultural experience reflected in a work of literature drawing on a wide
reading of world literature.


First person, second person and third person. The author’s perspective is important to recognize because it can lead to the understanding of what the author wants to transmit. Some authors will transmit cultural elements in their writing using the different perspectives.This lesson will help you to find the author’s perspective and enjoy the cultural elements presented in their writings.

During the lesson, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify the type of narrator in the text;
  2. Research different cultural elements in a text;
  3. Compare and contrast cultural elements in literature;
  4. Write a compare and contrast essay.
